Havo in Eindhoven: growth, research and attention

A new school, other classes and a class full of new faces. The transition to high school is exciting. At the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum in Eindhoven we will help you find your way. You get to know your mentor and classmates and discover step by step how things are in high school.

With a Havo advice you can start with us in the Havo Bridge Class. You learn new things, discover which subjects appeal to you and receive guidance in organizing your school work. That's how you work on a base for the years that follow.

A start at the level that suits you

In junior high, a lot of people come at you. You switch places, get lessons from different teachers and learn to deal with homework. Your mentor will help you. During the introduction days you get to know each other better. In the first year you also get two minimentors: students from the superstructure who you can ask.

Do you have any advice? Then you can start in our two year havo/vwo class. The lessons start at havo level and are gradually built up to vwo level. So you don't have to choose after the first year. After the second year you continue in havo 3 or vwo 3.

Havo education where you work yourself

What can you do with the things you learn in class? On our Havo you will also discover this by getting to work yourself. You work together, explore an issue and learn to explain ideas to others. You will also discover what you already know and where you still want to grow.

At HavoPro you work on a question of a company or organisation. In Havo 4 you can get acquainted with business with the LCL Business Class. Together with other students, you set up a company and think about a product, marketing and finance.

Do you like sports and organize? In Havo 4 and 5 we offer the course Moving, Sport and Society (BSM). You will learn to work together and to lead, for example by helping with sports activities.

Guidance with your schoolwork and your choices

Sometimes learning goes by itself and sometimes you need some help. For example, if you have trouble planning your homework or don't know how to learn for a test. Your mentor is a contact and sees with you what support is needed.

In classes 1 and 2 of the Havo and Havo/Vwo you can use the homework class free of charge. There you work under supervision on your schoolwork and you can get help with your planning. Do you need more support? We'll see which one. guidance at school fits your situation.

Which courses suit your future?

From class 3, the school dean will help you think about your profile and further education. What do you find interesting? What are you good at? And what subjects do you need for a study that appeals to you?

From Havo 4 you follow one of the four profiles: Nature & technology, Nature & health, Economy & society or Culture & society. This is how you give more direction to your education.

Yes, with a Havo advice you can start in our Havo Bridge class. Do you have any advice? Then you can choose the two-year-old havo/vwo-class.
In the two-year havo/vwo-class you get two years to discover which level suits you. After the second year you continue in havo 3 or vwo 3.
Je mentor helpt je bij het wennen aan school en het organiseren van je schoolwerk. In klas 1 en 2 van de havo en havo/vwo kun je ook kosteloos naar de huiswerkklas, waar je ondersteuning kunt krijgen bij je planning.
Je oriënteert je vanaf klas 3 op je profiel en vervolgopleiding. De schooldecaan helpt je hierbij. Vanaf havo 4 volg je de vakken van het gekozen profiel.
