Het Lorentz Casimir Lyceum leidt op voor het eindexamen havo, atheneum en gymnasium. De afdeling Hoger Algemeen Voortgezet Onderwijs (havo) geeft een algemeen vormende opleiding van vijf jaar, waarvan het diploma toegang geeft tot het hoger beroepsonderwijs of een doorstroming naar vwo 5. De havist is een slimme doener, een leerling die bij voorkeur leert door ervaring en dingen doen.
The atheneum together with the gymnasium forms the Preparatory Scientific Education (vwo). This is a six-year course, the diploma of which gives access to higher vocational education or to the university. The student is looking for deeper content with which he prepares for a more academically tinted study. In addition to the vwo profile, the gymnasium student chooses to focus on the languages and culture of classical antiquity, which are also the cradle of our current culture and morality.
The mastery of knowledge and the associated skills is an important condition to succeed in a future study and/or profession. The school consequently strives to offer high-quality professional lessons. However, the ambitions of the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum extend further. In addition to the current curriculum, we want to make it possible to create additional challenges in the form of various educational programmes and activities, in which students can excel in specific disciplines. In the four-yearly inspection study (2023), the school obtained the rating "Good Value" for the realisation of the above ambitions. We are highlighting the most important of these educational programmes.
